Easy Raw Chocolate Slice (GF, RSF, DF, V)

This is a great slice to keep in the freezer and have "on-hand". It's free from refined sugars, dairy, gluten and all the nasties you find in store bought treats, and high in healthy fats and antioxidants. 


But remember, although they're natural sugars, the sugar content is still pretty high. It's super delicious which makes it a bit dangerous! Try to practice moderation if you can help it :)




1 cup ground nuts –- almonds or pecans work well

¼ to ½ cup of organic cacao 

½ cup dates (approx) 

1 tsp vanilla essence 

Pinch of natural salt 

Optional: Add some coconut oil if it doesn’t stick together.

Place all of the above ingredients into a food processor. Once mixed well, press into a slice tin or individual mini cake/muffin tins and place in freezer.


Chocolate Filling:


2 cups organic cashews (soaked for 10-15mins to an hour or two)

½ cup maple syrup/ agave or sweetener of choice 

Optional: ½ cup water if filling is too thick 

Blend above ingredients into food processor until creamy, adding water to get desired consistency if necessary. 

Then add:

2 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup coconut oil

¾ cup organic cacao 

Blend until smooth. Pour on top of the base and place back into the freezer. 

The slice is ready to eat when the top has set. It's best to cut a piece and leave it out of the freezer to thaw for about 2-5mins before eating.


It will last in container in freezer for several weeks.
