This is a great slice to keep in the freezer and have "on-hand". It's free from refined sugars, dairy, gluten and all the nasties you find in store bought treats, and high in healthy fats and antioxidants.
But remember, although they're natural sugars, the sugar content is still pretty high. It's super delicious which makes it a bit dangerous! Try to practice moderation if you can help it :)

1 cup ground nuts –- almonds or pecans work well
¼ to ½ cup of organic cacao
½ cup dates (approx)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of natural salt
Optional: Add some coconut oil if it doesn’t stick together.
Place all of the above ingredients into a food processor. Once mixed well, press into a slice tin or individual mini cake/muffin tins and place in freezer.
2 cups organic cashews soaked 10-15mins to an hour or two
½ cup maple syrup/ agave or sweetner of choice
Optional: ½ cup water if filling too thick
Blend above ingredients into food processor until creamy, add water to get desired consistency if necessary.
Then add:
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup coconut oil
¾ cup organic cacao
And blend till smooth. Pour on top of base and place back in the freezer.
Eat when the top has set. Best to cut a piece and leave out of freezer to de-thaw for about 2-5mins before eating:) It will last in container in freezer for several weeks.
Enjoy!
